What is a friend?

  • Someone you spend time with in school. Maybe someone in your class.

  • Someone you spend time with outside of school, and have playdates with or go to their birthday party.

  • Someone you like to play with and share with.

  • Someone who might like something that you like.

  • Someone who tells you the truth.

  • Someone who is kind to you.



A good friend is someone who:

  • Is trustworthy

  • You can count on

  • Is kind to you and makes you feel good

  • Cares about how you are feeling

  • Helps you when you are feeling down, or hurt

  • Uses kind language when talking to you


Why is having friends important?

  • Being a good friend is an important life skill!

  • Our friends can cheer us up when we are having a bad day

  • Being a good friend helps us practice how to share and get along with others

  • It can help us be a better brother or sister

  • It makes us feel good!


Remember: The only way to have great friends is to be a great friend!
